UA-OM: Hogs Escape, Diamond Doll Injured

By Jean Neuberger - May 18, 2007

The story of the second inning were the two rocket shots launched by Ole Miss batters Evan Button and Zack Miller. Button's hit the top of the right field wall and bounced in for a double, but Miller's was caught by a flying Jake Dugger as he slammed into the right center wall and the College World Series logo.

Meanwhile, while Razorback SS Tim Smalling was at bat, he sent a high foul ball that had Rebels scrambling to catch it near the dugout. Rebel catcher Alex Kliman missed the ball, but knocked down the protective netting for the Razorback Diamond Dolls and smacked one in the face, forcing her to leave the game while Hog fans applauded her, and gave Kliman a piece of their minds.

I believe the injured Diamond Doll is senior Abby Frizzell. However, sitting up high in the press box, I can't confirm that 100%. We'll get to the bottom of it though.

1-0 Razorbacks after two innings of play.
