UA-OM: Watching The Pitch Count, Scoreboard

By Jean Neuberger - May 17, 2007

Arkansas continues to lead Ole Miss 1-0 after three, but Ole Miss has got to be concerned with the pitch count for Will Kline. Granted, Kline is pitching well, as he now has seven K's through three innings. However, one thing Arkansas does well is they make pitchers pitch. Van Horn is always wanting to get opponents to go to their bullpen, and Kline has thrown 59 pitches so far in the game.

Meanwhile, Schmidt is working efficiently, having only thrown 31 pitches in the game. He's painting the corners a la Greg Maddux, and it's paying off, as the Rebels are hitting a lot of ground balls and infield pop-ups.

We're seeing pitching artistry tonight at Baum Stadium...but for how long?

As Mark has stated earlier, this is a great night for watching the scoreboard, and cheers came with the news of LSU tying the game in Nashville, and Bama taking the lead on State. Right now, Arkansas is pulling for the Tigers and Tide to do their parts this weekend.
