UA-OM: Wayne's World - Hogs Take Lead Back

By Jean Neuberger - May 17, 2007

It seemed as if Will Kiline was going to have his way tonight, but he ran into trouble in the bottom of the fifth.

Tim Smalling drew a walk, but Kline struck out Matt Willard and Jake Dugger for his 9th and 10th strikeouts of the game, respectively. However, Logan Forsythe answered with his third hit of the game for the Hogs, doubling off the left field wall, and putting runners on second and third. With Jeff Nutt in a horrendous slump, Dave Van Horn called on Wayne Hrozek to pinch hit, and Hrozek responded on a 3-1 pitch with a line drove that just found its way over the right field wall and just left of the foul pole, and the crowd went wild as Arkansas grabbed a 4-3 lead.

The last time Arkansas had a pinch-hit home run? Try April 3, 2005 (Jake Dugger vs. Auburn).

As the RBI Girls are dancing on the dugouts (to the delight of the Going Yard guys), Nick Schmidt heads back to the mound to start the sixth, holding on to a one-run lead.
