Vandy takes the lead

By Mark Etheridge - May 12, 2007

Three fifth inning doubles pushed Vanderbilt into a 4-3 lead in humid, Plainsman Park at Hitchcock Field at Samford Stadium.

We've had seven hit batters in the game so far. Vandy's Mike Minor just hit Andy Bennett and got a stare down and words as Bennett took first. Minor then hit the next batter Robert Brooks - who turned amazed towards Minor as his coach Tom Slater urged him to take his base. That ended the day for Minor - one out short of the five innings required for the win.

Ty Davis got a bases-loaded ground out to end the fifth. Commodores lead 4-3 after 5.
