WCC: Is San Diego a national seed?

By Patrick Creaven - May 27, 2007

San Diego is up 13-1 in the ninth inning, so it's time to look ahead.

After watching Toreros these past two days, it's hard to imagine that there are eight better teams in the country.

They have the resume too: A 43-16 record, have won 14 of their last 16 and played a difficult non conference schedule, which was highlighted by a series win over Texas.

The depth in the pitching staff is what makes this a scary team in a regional tournament.

With Brian Matsuz, Josh Romanski, and today's starter Matt Couch, the Toreros don't depended on one or even two pitchers to carry them.
