WCC: Must catch fly balls
By Patrick Creaven - May 25, 2007
In the first inning, Gonzaga had two hits and San Diego had none, but it was the Toreros that got on the scoreboard.
The Zags got two two-out singles, but they were left standed when Shawn Wayt struck out.
Then in the bottom of the first, USD's Justin Snyder led off the inning with an easy fly ball to left field, but Wyat continued his bad innning, dropping the ball. If I may make an excuse for Wyat, the sky is a nice gray baseball color on this overcast day, although, it was still a pretty easy play. A gourdball and a fly ball later, and the Toreros had scored the first run of the game.
The crown also filled up here at Cunningham Stadium , with the one section behind home plate now being about 80 percent full.
Gonzaga went 1-2-3 in the second and the Toreros currently have runner on first and second with no outs, stay tuned.....
