WCC: San Deigo must win
By Patrick Creaven - May 26, 2007
San Diego will play its first elimination game of the year, when they go up against a confident Gonzaga team here at Cunningham Stadium on the USD campus.
Of the four losses San Diego has had agaianst the West Coast Conference teams this year, three of them were against the Zags.
A win today or tomorrow for Gonzaga will cement there place in the NCAA Tournament. If they do lose Game 2 and Game 3 of the series, Gonzaga will be very nervous when they watch the Selection Show on Monday morning, because they will be a bubble team for an at-large bid.
We'll see if the crowd is a little more active today. There wasn't one, "Let's go Toreros" chant all game yesterday.
The weather is even better today, partly cloudy and 78 degrees. Oh how I love San Diego.
Gonzaga leads best-of-three series 1-0
Game Two Pitchers (starts at 2 p.m.)
USD - Josh Romanski (8-1, 3.20 ERA)
GON - Brandon Hanson (6-7, 4.00 ERA)
