Wichita State - Fullerton: Roemermania

By Jeffrey Lutz - May 11, 2007

Wes Roemer made it through his first jam of the night. After giving up a two-out double to Damon Sublett, he stroke out Matt Brown looking on a nasty two-seamer after a lengthy battle. He pumped his first, let out a scream and, for good measure, ran right by WSU coach Gene Stephenson on his way to the dugout.

Things are looking bleak for the Shockers. Banwart gave up his second leadoff double in as many innings. This time the culprit was Joe Scott, who scored a batter later on a single by Clark Hardman. It's now 3-0 Titans and with the way Roemer is carving up Shocker hitters, a comeback looks unlikely. Shocker fans are keeping the faith, staying boisterous in an attempt to give WSU some life. Maybe Sublett's double was a sign the Shockers are starting to figure out Roemer. Maybe not. But Banwart needs to find a groove if the Shockers have any hope at all.
