WSU vs OSU: Shockers grab early lead
By Tristan Threlkeld - May 15, 2007
After the Cowboys started the inning off with a base hit by centerfielder Keanon Simon they could not do any other damage. For the Shockers they beat up and dragged Cowboy pitcher Joe Kent, but only garnered one run from it. The Shockers Dusty Coleman grounded out to start the third for them, but Andy Dirks came up to bat and got himself a double down the third base line. Dirks subsequently stole third to give the Shockers a shot at getting the games first run on the board and they did. After a Derek Schermerhorn walk, Damon Sublett hit an RBI single through the gap between second and first to give the Shockers the early lead. The Shockers would do no more damage to the Cowboys and Joe Kent as they eached escaped with two runners left on base in scoring position.
At the end of the 3rd 1-0 WSU.
