Catamounts Padding Lead

Bailey Daniels held Western Carolina in check in the 4th and 5th innings, and Ryan Tousley continued his hot hitting with a solo HR in the bottom of the 5th to bring ECU to within 1 of Western Carolina.

But the Catamounts have come right back in the top of the 6th frame. Singles by Barrett Shaft, Steven Strausbaugh, Kenny Smith, and Jonathan Greene have accounted for 3 more runs. It could have been worse, had ECU centerfielder Harrison Eldridge not made a great catch when he went vertical at the wall to rob Blake Murphy of home run. The Catamounts are still batting with 1 out and the bases loaded. ECU has just gone to Josh Ruhlman, its 4th pitcher of the game (following Hose, Bailey Daniels, and Brett Butts. 8-4 Western Carolina in the sixth.
