Chapel Hill: Post Game Comments

By Kenny Cook - June 01, 2007

Western Carolina Coach Todd Raleigh stated in the post-game press conference that he didn't second guess himself for taking out starter Tyler Sexton. Sexton had pitched five innings and struck out seven batters and WCU led 8-4 until reliever Chris Masters gave up a 3 run HR to pinch hitter Corey Kemp. Raleigh explained that Sexton had just come off a long inning and had already thrown 100 pitches.

Kemp explained that he always tries to stay in the game, even if he isn't starting, and that allowed him to come out cold and knock the 3 run jack that got the Pirates back in the game.

Tomorrow's starters are scheduled to be Drew Saberhagen for Western Carolina in their elimination game, and Dustin Sasser for ECU in their winner's bracket game.
