Charlottesville: Sloppy defense costs Rutgers

By Barney Breen-Portnoy - June 04, 2007

OSU tacked on two runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 3-0 lead. Scott Santschi scored the first run of the inning when he sprinted home after RU catcher Frank Meade made an errant throw back to RU pitcher Matt Giannini. Jordan Lennerton, who had reached base on an error by RU third baseman Tim Querns, later scored on a RBI base hitby Joey Wong.
Rutgers committed three errors in the first four innings, not something you'd expect from a club fighting to keep its season alive.
