CWS: Another One Bites The Dust
By Doug Kroll - June 20, 2007
Unfortunately, another team has left us here in Omaha, and it's those loveable Anteaters. Oregon State ended UC Irvine's run in the 2007 College World Series, with a 7-1 victory on Wednesday night. With the win, the Beavers advance to the Championship Series for the second straight season, where of course, they won it last year
UC Irvine starter Christian Bergman is your tough-luck loser, falling to 0-4 without giving up an earned run! He did give up four runs however, thanks to a crucial error with two outs in the third inning, that led to four runs in the inning, including a two run homerun by OSU catcher Mitch Canham.
The winner is Daniel Turpen, who pitched a whale of a ballgame, and improves to 10-1 on the year, and how about those Beavers!!
Who would have thought either of these teams would have gotten this far? So congratulations to the Anteaters for an unbelievable magical ride. Dave Serrano's club will be back.
More to come from Rosenblatt.

Looks like OSU Baseball has transferred to baseball a technique perfected by the UCLA basketball teams in the last 15 years -- laze through the Pac 10 Conference season, then turn on the afterburners in time for the NCAAs.
