CWS: Game Two

By Doug Kroll - June 15, 2007

Back again. That's what North Carolina's mission has been since the final out was made last year against Oregon State in the championship series. They are back and ready to go. The Heels will take on the Bulldogs of Mississippi State.

For the Tar Heels it will be ace Robert Woodard who comes in at 10-2 with a 3.01 ERA in 16 starts this year. He's got 79 K's in 104.2 innings, while walking only 26.

For the Bulldogs, Justin Pigott gets the start. The lefty is 7-6 with a 4.40 ERA in 15 starts (16 games). He's got two complete games, and has struck out 73 in 108. 1innings, while walking only 22.

Bottomline: Don't expect too many free passes tonight. But then again, who expected 25 runs in the first game?

That's why they play the game, and as Wayne Graham says,"That's why our game is so great."
