Fayetteville: Bat, Coaches Ejected

By Jean Neuberger - June 03, 2007

That's right, folks, we've had a bat ejection from the game in the top of the second.

Tyler Mach stepped up to the plate when home plate ump Steve Mattingly asked to see the bat. After inspection, Mattingly told Mach that he couldn't use the bat. Frank Anderson came out of the dugout to argue, but to no avail.

Chris Rhoads got the first two batters to ground to short before Rebel Ridling singled to right. The ball was bobbled by Wayne Hrozek, and Ridling charged for second. However, Hrozek's throw to Tim Smalling was on the money, and Ridling was tagged out to end the inning.

Arkansas heads to the bottom of the second, still up 2-0.

After the inning, Frank Anderson came to argue more with the ump. Anderson got tossed, followed by Oklahoma State's asst. coach Greg Evans, who stepped in the ump's way and wouldn't leave when asked.

The crowd is ROCKING right now in Fayetteville!
