Fayetteville: Fear the Bird
By Jean Neuberger - June 02, 2007
I know there are Creighton fans asking themselves where on Earth were these bats yesterday when they needed them?
Creighton is not taking any chances, so the Jesuit school is giving no mercy to Albany today. Chris Gradoville doubled to left center, and scored on Steve Winkelmann's bloop single to center. Chad Odgen singled to advance Winklemann to center, and when Winkelmann tried to steal third, Tom Hill's throw went into left field, scoring Winkelmann and making it an 11-3 Creighton lead. Ogden just advanced to third on another wild throw by Hill that found its way to center field.
Mieras is at the plate right now...this guy is a triple away from the cycle. He's 3-for-3 today with a double, a single, and an inside-the-park home run.
**UPDATE** - Mieras didn't get a triple, but he did reach first on an error by Al Barbato, scoring Ogden. It's now 12-3 Creighton, and Mieras continues his outstanding day at the plate.
