Fayetteville: Hogs Cruise to Winner's Bracket

By Jean Neuberger - June 01, 2007

No surprises here.

Arkansas was in control from the beginning, and Albany had no answer for the Razorbacks' pitching tonight. In front of a rain-soaked 8,372 fans at Baum Stadium, the Hogs breezed past the Great Danes 9-0.

NOTE: This win is Dave Van Horn's 200th at Arkansas. In his fifth season, he is now 200-108 at Arkansas.

Arkansas (42-19) will rest up for what should be a great showdown with Oklahoma State, while Albany (29-28) will try to stave off elimination against Creighton in the afternoon game tomorrow.

WP - Duke Welker (7-5)
LP - John Maples (8-3)
S - Evan Cox (2)

We'll be back with post-game thoughts and a wrap-up from this first day of action here at the Fayetteville Regional. Once again, the Razorbacks have claimed victory over the Albany Great Danes, 9-0.
