Fayetteville: Orange Power Early
By Jean Neuberger - June 01, 2007
The key of the game was if Oklahoma State could hit off of Creighton's pitchers early.
Question asked, question answered.
Ty Wright opened things off in the first with a single up the middle, and then advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Keanon Simon. After Tyler Mach reached base on what was a gift of a hit (it bounced up and over Creighton SS Chad Ogden), Rebel Ridling came up and smoked a pitch into the picnic area in left field, giving the fans from Stillwater something to shout about early.
Lewis is still in trouble early. After the Ridling blast, he's hit Matt Mangini and walked Jordy Mercer, putting runners on first and second with two outs. Ryan Flavell smoked a single up the middle, scoring Mangini and moving Mercer to third. For OSU, a team that scored just 10 runs in three Big 12 Tournament games, this is the perfect medicine for a slumping team.
4-0 Cowboys early on.
