Fullerton: Titans, Bruins Square Off
By Jason Owens - June 09, 2007
Fullerton knows Super Regional baseball. I didn't even have to get past the parking lot to realize that the ante has been upped this week with UCLA and Cal State Fullerton squaring off for the right to go to Omaha.
The parking lot at Goodwin Field is filled with tents and tailgaters and people were searching for extra tickets on the sidewalk for this sold out Fullerton Super Regional. The Titans have four national championships and plenty of experience in postseason play. It shows.
Both teams are starting their aces today with Collegiate Baseball 2006 Co-National Player of the Year Wes Roemer taking the mound for the Tians. He matches up his 10-6 record and 3.33 ERA with Tyson Brummett's 3.57 ERA and 10-5 record.
I'm working outside again this weekend; but unlike Tempe last week, it's not 106 degrees. It's nice to be back in Southern California.
Touching the Bases will return at the end of the game with complete analysis and a wrapup of today's game. To follow the action with live pitch-by-pitch information, head to Gametracker .
