NASHVILLE: Price gets out of jam

By Chris Lee - June 01, 2007

Things momentarily came apart for Vandy's David Price in the sixth, but the national player of the year was able to get out of trouble without any runs.

Price got Rafael Hill on a ground-out, and Josh Kempf on a strikeout, to start the sixth. He then walked No. 3 hitter Tyler Farrar on a 3-1 pitch, then hit Jake Lane with a 1-1 offering.

Price got ahead of Trey Lucas before just missing with a 2-2 pitch to take the count full. He then froze Lucas for strike three--his 11th K--and got out of the inning.

Still no score in the bottom of the sixth, Vandy had just one hit until No. 9 hitter Brad French ripped the first pitch to left for a single, so stay tuned...
