Oxford: Golden Eagles pulling away

By Chris Kieffer - June 03, 2007

Southern Miss now leads 7-1 entering the bottom of the seventh after Chris Matesich's two-run single.
The hit was the third of the day for Matesich, who entered the game hitting .136. He's raised his average to .165.
The last time Matesich, a third baseman, had a two-hit game was in the 2005 Oxford Regional against Oklahoma. He also had four three-hit games in 2005.
Looks like it'll be an all Magnolia title game with Ole Miss waiting in the wings.
