Southern Miss third baseman Chris Matesich entered the day with a .136 batting average. That's 11 hits on 81 at bats.
He now has his first career four-hit game. The fourth hit was a two-out solo home run 391 feet to straight away center field. It was his third career home run and first since 2005.
