Oxford: Underway on day three

Southern Miss leads Sam Houston State 3-0 after an inning and a half in the first game of the day. The winner will take on Ole Miss tonight at 5.
Luke Adkins led off the second with a double, Jordan King walked and Eddie Burger smacked an RBI double.
The Bearkats nearly escaped the jam stranding runners on second and third when Bo Davis hit a ball to deep center fielder and SHS center fielder Keith Stein ran backwards to track the ball hit over his head. Stein nearly had it, but failed to make the Willie Mays catch, and Davis ended up with a two-run triple.
