Tallahassee: 12-0 final, Wildcats eliminated
By Michael McGuffee - June 02, 2007
We're finally through as Stetson will live to play another day in Tallahassee. The Hatters scored three more runs in the ninth to make it a 12-0 final over Bethune-Cookman.
The Wildcats collapsed defensively in the fourth as a couple errors aided a six-run Stetson rally and created a hole too deep for digging.
B-CU reliever Hiram Burgos pitched three scoreless innings and racked up five strikeouts, but it was as irrelevant as Bethune-Cookman's bats as the team struggled to string together hits in game three of the regional.
The Wildcats scored two against the Seminoles in the second inning of game two, but concluded their regional appearance with 16 consecutive scoreless innings.
I'll be back with some post game quotes in a bit and then we'll get ready for tonight's one vs. two matchup between day one winners Florida State and Mississippi State.
