Wichita: Defense on fire

Bottom of the 5th. Rhinehart gets a hit for AZ that flies over the 1st baseman's head for a single. Glenn hits one towards 3b, and Rhinehart is out at 2nd, but Glenn is safe at 1st. Diallo Fon strikesout for AZ, and that is it for the 5th.

Attendance here at the Championship game is around 7800 people. It is quite a crowd here tonight. Second largest at Eck Stadium

Arizona takes to the field for the top of the 6th inning. Workman comes up to bat for WSU. He is walked, and Hill is up to bat. Workman steals 2nd. Hill's hit is caught by AZ ss, Abel, and that is WSU's 1st out. Weber runs on the strikeout to first base, and the catcher throws it to first for the out.

Arizona now up to bat. Dwight Childs gets to first from a hit by Banwart. Fantastic play by Gillaspie as he runs infield then dives down to catch the bunt by Abel. Gaston get a single out to cf, and now up for AZ is Sedbrook. Sublett again with a great play. He catches Sedbrooks ball, tosses it to Coleman who is covering second, and then Coleman sends it to first for the out.
