By Callie Wasson - June 01, 2007
7th inning, WSU's Dusty Coleman finally gets a hit on base, even with the efforts of the first baseman trying to tag him. Andy Dirks follows with a beautiful bunt that sends him to first. The crowds always goes wild for a successful bunt. Schermerhorn goes up to bat and hits it, but Dirks is out by the N.O. Short Stop. Bases now loaded, and Brown is up to bat. Strike one. Strike two. Hit between first and second base, and Schermerhorn and Coleman come in for 2 runs. Shockers now lead 6-4.
Workman gets hit on a pitch and is sent to first base. WSU now sends Tyler Hill to the plate. He gets a hit, but is out at first base. New Orleans up, and Giavotella hits a pop up foul that is caught by WSU's Gillaspie for the 2nd out. The Shockers hold the Privateers in the 8th inning.
