Wichita: These Fans can Sing!

By Callie Wasson - June 01, 2007

It's about 9:00pm here at Eck Stadium, and WSU's Matt Brown tries to steal second for the Shockers as #34 Gillaspie bats. He attempt is not sucessful and he gets out. Gillaspie strikes out, and #22 Workman goes up to bat. Workman get a hit that flies past New Orleans pitcher Cryer, and stays at first base. Tyler comes up to bat and hits it straight to the left fielder, who picks it up and throws it back into the infield, as Hill goes to second.

New Orleans brings in a new pitcher now, #24 Stephen Whalen. He warms up with the catcher, as WSU fans "woooo" at him from the stands. WSU's Weber bats, as he gets a hit that sends Workman in for the tying run. Score is now 4-4. Tyler Hill slides into third, but not in time as he gives WSU their third out.

New Orleans is up to bat, and #17 Anderson stikes out against Womack. Womack continues, and strikes out #3 Jerrod Ware. WSU gets New Orleans their third out quickly to end the half as the entire crowd begins to sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game"...
