Beavers In Portland?
By Doug Kroll - November 09, 2007
Rumor out of Corvallis is that the renovations to Goss Stadium are a little bit behind, and that Oregon State will likely open its season in Portland at PGE Park when Georgia comes to town in February.
It's a shame if the Beavers don't get to open its quest for a third straight national championship at home especially against what should be a pretty good Bulldogs team, but supposedly the improvements they are making are really coming along and it's going to be a great place to watch a baseball game once completed.
Oregon State, of course, wouldn't be the first team to move some or all of its games. We've seen a ton of programs revamp their stadiums of late. Texas was forced to play at Round Rock last year, while North Carolina will play all of its home games in Cary, N.C. in 2008 thanks to the demolition of Boshamer Stadium.
As part of our 2008 season preview, we will take a look at the progress of many stadium projects around the country, so be on the lookout for that.

I am thrilled to learn that the Beavers will play a big time team like Georgia at PGE Park. I am sure the Portland fans will give the Beavers great support and show up in February with a large crowd.
GO BEAVERS!
