Pirates beat Fullerton, 6-1.

Shane Matthews came on to shut things down and put the clamps on an impressive 6-1 win over No. 6 Cal State Fullerton.

I'll have more about this one and coach's quotes and stuff on Extra Innings later on tonight.

Good win for ECU, taking down a West coast school for the second Friday in a row.

Hose pulled, Butts now firing, ECU three outs away from a W.

East Carolina starter T.J. Hose went 7.0 innings, walked the first batter of the 8th and left the game to a rousing applause. Reliever Brett Butts replaced him and promptly gets a groundout and two strikeouts.

Going into the bottom of the 8th now. This isn't an upset. ECU is legit. At least with T.J. Hose on the mound.

ECU keeps hitting. Fullerton fans wonder who's wearing Roemer's uniform

Not only did Wes Roemer just walk his second batter of the night here in the 6th, but Harrison Eldridge added to his woes by slicing his third bloop single of the night into right field, scoring DH Jake Dean.

Then, Roemer got Eldridge leaning/running toward second and promptly chucked the ball into center field while trying to throw him out at second, allowing Ryan Wood (the 9-hole hitter he walked a few minutes ago) to score from third.

Going into the 7th, it's now East Carolina 6-1.

Oops. Internet probs solved. ECU beating Fullerton 4-1

We're in the bottom of the 6th here at Clark-LeClair Stadium and East Carolina is beating Cal State Fullerton 4-1.

It appears the Pirates have read the scouting report on Wes Roemer and are going right after him, first pitch, on numerous occasions. In the 4th inning, Pirate sluggers Ryan Tousley and Corey Kemp hit monster home run shots off the Player of the Year candidate. Tousley's crush job went beyond the "jungle" and over a second fence that surrounds the stadium.

As of this moment, ECU is out-hitting Fullerton 9-to-3. The Titans also have two errors. The score could've been worse but Titan LF Khris Davis gunned down leadoff hitter Harrison Eldridge at the plate in the 3rd.
