David Who?

By Doug Kroll - February 22, 2008

David who? Alright Vandy fans, you have a nice replacement for David Price. Mike Minor's '08 debut was great, going six innings, giving up five hits, 1 run, striking out six and walking none. The only run came in the 6th when he got out of a bases loaded, no-one out jam by inducing a double-play ball which allowed a run to score.

We all know the Commodores can rake with thatl ineup. And if Minor wants to be the stopper at the front of the rotation, even better for coach Corbin.

Caleb Cotham came in out of the bullpen, and the righty just set the Beavers down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 7th. So, through seven innings, Vanderbilt still leads 5-1.

One note on OSU, Darwin Barney, the heart and soul of the team for the last couple years is in the house. With the spring training home of the Chicago Cubs not too far away, Barney has made the trip over to see his alma-mater. They could use Barney right now.

The lineup certainly took a hit with no Barney or Canham around. And for whatever reason, power bat Jordan Lennerton didn't get the nod at first base in the opener.

Just a reminder, ASU meets Miami (Ohio) tonight at 7pm Mountain time. hopefully the rain will be over, but the temps should be dropping into the 40s. Fun.
