There's The O

Finally. Pat Murphy's bunch has put some hits on the board, and by some I mean two. With that, ASU now leads 3-0 after a Marcel Champagnie RBI double into the leftcenterfield gap. The night is over for Chris Niro, who got a nice hand from the Miami faithful that made the trip from Oxford. Giving up only two hits against that lineup is certainly something to be proud of.

Josh Satow was also pulled after 5.2, after giving up 2 hits, no runs, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Not his greatest performance, but he kept the RedHawks off the scoreboard.

Four errors really doomed Niro. But that's sort of expected from a Northern school this time of year. None of his runs are earned, and he walked 2 while striking out 4 Sun Devils.

Freshman Tyler Melling now replaces Niro. At 6-foot-1, 146, he's a skeleton out there. Let's see how the lefty does, trying to keep the deficit at only 3 with a runner on 2nd and 2 outs.
