Josh Shipp Has Surgery
josh%20shipp.jpg Sophomore shooting guard Josh Shipp had successful arthroscopic right hip surgery today and will miss 8-12 weeks of basketball action for recovery and rehabilitation. Doctors at the SoCal Orthopedic Institute repaired torn cartilage and removed a bone spur from his hip area. Shipp was a key member of the Bruins' starting rotation last season, averaging 9.3 points and 5.2 rebounds in 27.9 minutes. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound guard injured his hip playing basketball during the summer. ``I`m very pleased that the outcome was a successful one and we`re looking forward to having Josh back as soon as he is completely healed,`` coach Ben Howland said.
